What the heck is a Season?

TechCoffee runs in 10-episode bursts called “seasons”. This has a few benefits:

  1. It gives us the opportunity to change things up every couple months, if things aren’t working out. We might change which morning, how early, or which coffeeshop. Don’t worry, though — i’ll keep this site up-to-date and mention things on twitter.
  2. It’s much easier, as an attendee, to make a ten-week commitment and stick to it. If TechCoffee went on forever, it would be easier to say “Oh, I’ll just go next week”…
  3. It’s much easier for the organizer to make that commitment, too. And it’s straightforward to hand off organization between seasons, so it can continue as long as there’s interest.
  4. It allows for a nice, optional, hiatus every so often. This is far more likely to happen in the winter, for reasons that are probably obvious.
